Ed & Donner

This section of the War Dogs Site is dedicated to Donner. Another great hero of the Vietnam war. Join Ed with his photo's and stories of his best friend Donner.

I really don't know any background info on Donner at all. I got him when I arrived in VN from a cpl. , who was rotating home. I can't remember his name. He did tell me that Donner had been in the demonstration unit (that did demo's for visiting officiers and vips).

When I took him into the training area at Long Binh, he would come up to the 6 foot wall after the 2 jumps and run around it. The cpl. who was out of site, called me over and told me that Donner was just testing me to see what he could get away with, me being his new handler. He told me that Donner could run the whole obstical course by his self. Well I tried it again and he ran around the wall again. WELL! I corrected him on the spot. I then went back and started again, my god he flew over the wall like it wasn't there. He ran that whole course in record time. After that he knew I was on to his tricks.
